Reimbursement of tuition fee
Application Submission
For the winter semester: until the following March 31
For the summer semester: until the following October 31

A reimbursement of tuition fee can be granted for the following reasons:
Upon application, the tuition fee shall be refunded if the student:
- has paid an excessive amount or has mistakenly made multiple proper payments
- has paid the required tuition fee, but this payment could not result in a continuation of enrollment due to late receipt
- has paid an incomplete tuition fee and has therefore lost their status of a fee-paying student
- has paid the required tuition fee, but a reason for waiver has subsequently taken effect for the semester in question and was asserted before the end of the extension period
- has paid the required tuition fee, but has lost their status as a student required to pay tuition before the end of the extension period for the semester in question
- has completed their studies, which would have been possible even without paying tuition for the current semester due to the continuation of the enrollment status from the previous semester (before the end of the extension period)
- due to death
- withdraws from their studies, if they have submitted a notification of continued enrollment for the immediately preceding semester
- withdraws from their studies, provided that they have not yet taken any exams in the current semester and have not submitted any academic work for evaluation
- are from an EU or EFTA country, have exceeded the period subject to fees (standard duration of each section or course of study plus the legally prescribed tolerance semesters), but meet the criteria for a waiver and were unable to submit the waiver application within the specified deadline
If the student has also attended other universities and/or colleges of education at the same time, he or she must provide proof, when submitting the application for reimbursement, that admission to all fee-bearing programs at those institutions had also expired before the end of the extension period for the semester in question.
Please note! In the event of double payment of the ÖH fee or completion of studies before the end of the grace period, an application for a refund of the ÖH fee must be submitted directly via the ÖH’s online form.
