The research at the Medical University of Innsbruck focuses on infection, immunity and transplantation; neurosciences; oncology; and genetics-epigenetics-genomics. Each of these research focuses features a blend of basic research, applied research and special clinical facilities.

Cross-organizational “Comprehensive Centres” support the interaction between clinical and medical-theoretical research.
