
The Medical University of Innsbruck actively promotes young scientists. In a supportive environment, it helps dedicated researchers develop innovative ideas, network, and make a lasting contribution to society and the future through excellent research. The Junior Faculty of the Medical University of Innsbruck comprises researchers in the early to mid-stages of their careers:
- university assistants (postdocs)
- private lecturers
- assistant professors
- associate professors
The Junior Faculty offers various events in different formats as well as various advisory, training and further education opportunities for young scientists. Central to this is ongoing development as well as internal and external networking.
Junior Faculty Meetings
Every two months, the research community at the Medical University of Innsbruck gets together to welcome new colleagues in tenure track positions, network, and develop ideas for joint research projects. All scientific staff are cordially invited to be part of this exchange.

Community & Development Fund
Do you have an idea to strengthen career development or the research community at MUI? The Community & Development Fund supports researcher-led initiatives such as working groups, lecture series, writing groups, or exchange formats with industry. Scientific staff can apply twice a year for funding of up to €3,000 to develop research and career skills, strengthen internal and international connections, and actively contribute to a vibrant research culture at our university.
